Framing the Story of Forced Deportations in the 1930s

Melita M. Garza, assistant professor of journalism, recently appeared on KERA’s “Think” to discuss her new book “They Came to Toil” (Newspaper Representations of Mexicans and Immigrants in the Great Depression). Garza analyzed the way three San Antonio daily newspapers covered this story of the forced deportations of Mexicans.
