Welcome New Associate Dean of Graduate Programs David Allen

The TCU Neeley School of Business is proud to welcome David Allen as associate dean of graduate programs. Allen will oversee all graduate programs at TCU Neeley, which include MBA full-time and part-time professional, Energy MBA, Health Care MBA, MS Supply Chain Management, Master of Accounting and executive education.

Allen is a respected teacher and researcher in strategic human capital, talent management, employee turnover, executive turnover and employment relationships.

He is editor-in-chief of the Journal of Management, which Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters) ranks as No. 1 in applied psychology out of 80 journals, No. 3 in management out of 194 journals, and No. 2 in business out of 121 journals.

He is co-author of a book, Managing Employee Turnover:  Dispelling Myths and Fostering Evidence-Based Retention Strategies.

Allen has received numerous research and teaching awards and has an impressive list of research publications in leading journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Entrepreneurship: Theory & Practice, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Organization Science and Personnel Psychology.

”I am excited to join the Neeley School and TCU,” Allen said. “I was drawn to the unique culture, great people and forward momentum, and am looking forward to building on the already strong programs in place.”

Allen previously was professor and department chair at Rutgers’ School of Management and Labor Relations, where he led a unit with approximately $11 million in annual revenues, 24 full-time faculty, nine full-time staff members, 240 graduate students and 1,000 undergraduate students. He led the master’s program, an undergraduate program and a career office, including marketing, recruiting, enrollment, curriculum, scheduling, budgeting and strategic planning. He previously was a distinguished professor in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis. He currently is distinguished research environment professor at the University of Warwick in England.

Allen holds a Ph.D. from Georgia State University’s Beebe Institute of Personal and Employment Relations in the Robinson College of Business, and an MBA and BS from Georgia Tech.
